Dear JCCA Community,

Tonight at sundown marks the start of Passover for the Jewish community, and this Friday is Good Friday, which ushers in Easter, the holiest day of the year for Christians. This is a holy week for people throughout the JCCA community — our clients, their families, and our staff. This is an opportunity to reflect on our collective work making the world a better place — our commitment to tikkun olam.

Passover commemorates the liberation of the nation of Israel, a tale that has been passed down from generation to generation, inspiring people of all faiths to fight for justice for all people. We stand up to anti-Semitism and advocate for equality for all the citizens of this extraordinary nation of opportunity; we understand what it means to be oppressed and we have no tolerance for subjugation.

Next Sunday is Easter – an important day of prayer, salvation, renewal, and redemption. Inspired by the miracle of Easter, Christians will challenge each other to be better, to love more deeply, and to serve those who are struggling most among us. Easter represents hope, reaffirming the belief that we are capable of persevering no matter how much adversity confronts us.

Regardless of our religious beliefs, or whether faith in God influences our lives, collective effort and shared sacrifice will secure a better future for future generations. At JCCA, we embrace our mission-driven obligation to make the world a better place—all year long.

During this season of rebirth and celebration, I am hopeful that you and those close to you may take time to be with one another and to reflect on our blessings. I am continually inspired by our resilient and extraordinary clients and the critically important and transformative work we at JCCA do for the children, young people, and families we are entrusted to support.

With thanks and respect,

Ronald E. Richter
