By every measure, our Walk-a-Thon to renovate the PCS Recreation Center was a huge success. We’d like to express our gratitude to all who came out to walk, cheer, and spend the gorgeous, sunny day with us. We had over 150 walkers and raised nearly $25,000. Thank you to the many who donated and helped make this day happen.
The JCCA community showed up in full force. Volunteers, families, current residents, alumni, staff, and neighbors walked a one-mile route through our bucolic campus, all for the purpose of revitalizing our rec center and in doing creating a physical space deserving of our residents and of the high quality therapeutic care given within. An assortment of games and activities were stationed along the route and walkers arrived at the finish line to find a balloon arch, an ice cream truck, and a DJ. No surprise that many hung around after the walking ended!

The event was a true collaboration, organized alongside Children’s Hope Chest and guided by JCCA’s Teen Council. A last note of thanks goes out to the Council’s co-chairs, Lee Kleinman and Sidney Leibowitz, and JCCA’s Young4Ever Dance Team, who kicked off the event with a stunning performance.
