Recently, a number of the children from JCCA’s START program (which provides intensive short term treatment for boys and girls on JCCA’s Pleasantville campus) collected 63½ pounds of baby formula, diapers and baby food, which they delivered to The Community Center of Northern Westchester. CCNW helps neighbors in need by providing food, clothing, programs and other resources.
“I liked seeing that the food and diapers will be going to help people,” said Angela, a START client.
After the holidays, the girls are planning to organize a food drive for the CCNW.
Clare Murray, Executive Director of the Community Center, adds, “We were delighted to have the girls visit us and show their support. Not only did they collect a wonderful amount of baby food and diapers, but they also stocked and organized the shelves! We are fortunate to have such a lovely relationship with the staff and girls at the Pleasantville Cottage School and look forward to seeing them again.”
