Barbara Salmanson
Vice Chair
Since becoming a JCCA Trustee in 2002, Barbara Salmanson has been deeply involved in our work with children and families. During her tenure, she has served as both President and Chair of the Board. She has assumed critical roles as Co-chair of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and Chair of the Residential Services and Foster Care Committee. Ms. Salmanson was an honoree at JCCA’s Celebration of Hope Gala Benefit in 2015. She is a former financial services attorney and served as a Senior Policy Adviser in the New York City Comptroller’s office, where she specialized in child welfare, nonprofit governance, and the role of government in the social service sector. She served as long-time member of the Board of Trustees of UJA-Federation of New York and currently serves on key committees and task forces at UJA. Ms. Salmanson has served on the boards of numerous Jewish communal organizations in both the US and in Israel.
