Who We Are
Lauren Sorrel
Lauren Sorrel has had a lifelong commitment to providing mental health services to those in need. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from NYU and is in private practice in Manhattan. Lauren also works as a staff therapist at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where she treats individuals, couples and families on a sliding scale and reduced fee. She has been an active volunteer and fundraiser of numerous social service, healthcare, and educational organizations over the years.
Lauren and her husband Larry reside in Manhattan and are parents to five children and their doodle Scooby. Lauren is looking forward to working as a Board Member of JCAA supporting their mission of providing the highest quality child welfare and mental health services in New York to the most vulnerable and underserved children and families in the community.
